Bullying / Self Esteem

The third and forth topics of the “Yes I Can” character enrichment program address the issues of “Bullying and Self Esteem”.

We feel it is important to run these two topics together. Bullies come in all sizes. They feed on the fears and low self-esteem of their victims. It is a form of terrorism where size doesn’t matter. The bully can be the smallest person in the school while his or her victims can be the biggest. Typically the bully at some point has learned the power of manipulation. He or she has discovered that they can manipulate their peer by intimidation. In extreme cases they may even be more capable of maintaining classroom order then the teacher in charge.

Y I C speaks to both the bully and the bullied; the predator and the prey; forcing each to examine their roles as perpetrator and victim. Recognizing that each suffer from low self-esteem.
